Cellular Grout
Improved Methods... Superior Outcomes

Provincial Undergrounds Portable Grout Plant is an all-in-one device that combines. a high-shear grout mixer, agitator, and grout pump that was uniquely developed to meet the tough demands of a variety of applications.
Cellular Grout is a highly effective material for filling the annular space between a carrier pipe and tunnel, and it performs exceptionally well in sliplining applications. For decades, lightweight cellular grout has been successfully used as backfill for lined tunnels on projects province wide.
Compared to traditional sand-cement grout, cellular grout offers several key advantages. Its significantly lower density, enhanced fluidity, and distinctive stress-deformation behavior set it apart. Lightweight cellular grout typically weighs only one-third to one-half as much as conventional grout, reducing buoyancy forces on conduits by a similar margin. This helps minimize the risk of conduit deflection and flotation.
Its superior fluidity allows the grout to easily flow into irregular voids without the need for consolidation, while also improving pumpability. With no sand this reduces the friction and lowers the heat of hydration of the host culvert. As a result, lower pumping pressures are required, reducing the likelihood of duct collapse. Once cured, cellular grout’s stress-deformation properties enable it to accommodate movement in the surrounding material without imposing excessive stress or distortion on the host culvert.
